What's New with QuickBooks in 2011
New Terms for Accountant's Copy File Transfer Using Intuit Servers
In QuickBooks Accountant 2011, accountants and their clients can continue to exchange QuickBooks 2011 Accountant Copy files using email and portable hard drives, or can opt to use Intuit's secure servers for a fee of $9.95 per year. Accountants and clients on QuickBooks 2010 Pro, Premier, Enterprise Solutions 10.0, or previous will continue to have access to Intuit secure servers free of charge.[1]
New Way to Email from QuickBooks
In QuickBooks Pro 2011, Premier 2011, Accountant 2011, and Enterprise 11.0, accountants and clients can send invoices and estimates right from their Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail, or other SMTP email accounts. The new Webmail integration allows users to easily email right from QuickBooks without going through the steps of setting up Outlook.[2] QuickBooks Email through Intuit servers will remain available to active subscribers of Intuit Payroll, QuickBooks Merchant Services, ProAdvisor Program, Accountant's Copy File Transfer, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Full Service Plan, QuickBooks Billing Solutions, Intuit Solution Provider Program, QuickBooks Pro/Premier Plus (when available).
QuickBooks Attached Documents Replaces Document Management
For new QuickBooks Pro 2011, Premier 2011, Accountant 2011, and Enterprise 11.0 users, QuickBooks Attached Documents replaces Document Management. Instead of storage-based limits, QuickBooks Attached Documents allows accountants and clients to pay based on how many attachments they want to make to a list item or transaction. Users can save time looking for files by attaching scanned receipts, estimates, spreadsheets and other documents to their QuickBooks list items and transactions. Users can access attached documents directly from QuickBooks, store files locally or online, and share online files with anyone electronically.[3]
Current users of the QuickBooks Document Management service on QuickBooks Pro 2010, Premier 2010, Accountant 2010, or Enterprise 10.0 can continue to use the Document Management service in their software (or with their QuickBooks 2011 software, if they upgrade) at pricing levels previously agreed to. Users can maintain their previous attachments by associating the same QuickBooks file for their Document Management service.
1 attachment per QuickBooks entry: $9.95/month
5 attachments per QuickBooks entry: $14.95/month
Unlimited attachments: $19.95/month
